CHINA GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Chinese Government Scholarships scheme is established by the Ministry of Education of P.R China (hereinafter referred to as MOE ) in accordance with educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between Chinese government and governments of other countries, organizations, education institutions and relevant international organizations to provide both full scholarships and partial scholarships to international students and scholars.

CHINESE GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME

The programme is established by the Ministry of Education of PR China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) in accordance with educational exchange agreements or understandings reached between the Chinese government and the governments of other countries, organisations, education institutions and relevant international organisations to provide both full scholarships and partial scholarships to international students and scholars.

CHINA/UNESCO -- THE GREAT WALL FELLOWSHIP

The scheme is a full scholarship scheme set up by China's Ministry of Education (MOE) for candidates recommended by the UNESCO. The scholarship sponsors general scholars and senior scholars, and in principle the academic programme they choose must be taught in English with duration up to one year. Candidates who have to choose programs taught in Chinese are required to get approval from both CSC and UNESCO upon application. With the approval, their scholarship duration will be extended automatically for another year.

THE STUDY IN ASIA SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship is a full scholarship scheme established by China's Ministry of Education (MOE) aiming to stimulate the mobility of Asian students and scholars within Asia. This scheme sponsors general scholars and senior scholars with the duration of one academic year. The instruction language can be either Chinese or English. Applicants who apply for courses instructed in Chinese are required to take a one-year Chinese language course prior to their academic study if their level of Chinese is not qualified. Upon passing a Chinese proficiency exam, the scholarship duration will be extended automatically for another year.

CHINA/AUN SCHOLARSHIP

The scholarship is a full scholarship scheme provided for ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) member countries by the Ministry of Education of PR China (MOE). MOE entrusts China Scholarship Council (CSC) to manage the recruitment and carry out the routine management of this scholarship programme.

CHINESE GOVERNMENT SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME-UNIVERSITY POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMME

The University Postgraduate Programme was established by the Ministry of Education of PR China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) with the aim to provide support to Chinese HEIs in building high level universities, and promote Chinese higher education brand on an international basis. The Chinese HEIs under this program are responsible for the recruitment of international students. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the MOE, holds the responsibility of the verification, approval and the routine management of the programme.

CHINESE GOVERNMENT SPECIAL SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME-DEGREE ORIENTED PROGRAM IN PROVINCES & AUTONOMOUS REGIONS

Degree Oriented Programme in Provinces & Autonomous Regions is established by the Ministry of Education of PR China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) aiming to strengthen the education exchanges and cooperation between China and its neighbouring countries. The education authorities in the provinces and autonomous regions under this programme lead the local institutions to carry out the recruitment. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the MOE, holds the responsibility of the verification, approval and the routine management of the programme.

THE DISTINGUISHED INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS SCHOLARSHIP

The programme is set up by the Ministry of Education of PR China (MOE) to sponsor outstanding international students who have finished their bachelor's education or above in China and have been enrolled by designated Chinese HEIs for higher academic pursuits or are now carrying out their Master's or Doctoral studies in those institutions. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC), entrusted by the MOE, holds the responsibility of the assessment, approval and the routine management of the programme.

CHINESE CULTURE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

The programme is established by the Ministry of Education of PR China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) to sponsor overseas scholars and specialists of Chinese culture to conduct short-term research and exchanges in China. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) is authorised to handle the enrollment and carry out the routine management of this scholarship programme. Applicants shall be engaged in research in the fields of Chinese language, literature, history, philosophy, education, economics, and ancient architecture, history of art, traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture. Applicants shall be supervised by a Chinese supervisor or cooperate with Chinese professors or experts in the designated Chinese HEIs to carry out their research.

THE SHORT-TERM SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME FOR FOREIGN TEACHERS OF CHINESE LANGUAGE

The programme is set up by the Ministry of Education of PR China (hereinafter referred to as MOE) with a view to help overseas professional teachers of Chinese language to improve their teaching skills and to facilitate the cooperation and exchanges in Chinese language teaching among teachers from different nations. China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as CSC) is authorised to handle the enrollment and carry out the routine management of this scholarship programme.

CHINA UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP
PEKING UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP

The main scholarship program of Peking University for international students is the Peking University Academic Excellence Scholarships which are open to international third year undergraduates, masters, and doctor exchange students. The award ranges from 3000 RMB to 10,000 RMB depending on the level of studies undertaken. International students who receive scholarships from the Chinese government do not directly receive the scholarship. They will only physically receive a certificate of honor and a souvenir.
