The Work and Holiday Visa (subclass 462) is designed for young adults who wish to travel and work in Australia for up to three years. This visa provides an opportunity for an extended holiday while allowing you to work to help finance your trip.
You can apply for up to three Work and Holiday visas, referred to as the first, second, and third visas. Each visa grants a 12-month stay.

English Requirement: It is not mandatory to take the English exam as highlighted.
Completed an approved English language test or assessment, achieving an average band score of 4.5 across all four components in IELTS General, or a score of 30 in PTE.
Have completed relevant education, including all primary years in English and at least three years of secondary or higher education in English. This educational background can substitute for the Functional English requirement, making a test unnecessary.
Proof of Funds: Applicants should demonstrate access to approximately AUD 5,000 for their initial stay, plus funds for onward travel after leaving Australia.
Health Insurance: Health requirements may need to be fulfilled, and it is recommended to obtain health insurance.
Police Verification: Applicants must provide police clearances from countries where they have lived for more than 12 months in the last 10 years to meet character requirements. Some applicants may also need to provide biometrics, depending on their country of application.
Outstanding Debts: If you or any family members owe money to the Australian government, it must be repaid or arrangements made to do so before applying.
Australian Immigration History: Applicants must not have had any visas canceled or applications refused, as immigration history will be considered when evaluating the application.
Australian Values Statement: Applicants are required to sign a statement affirming their commitment to Australian values.
Enter the ballot and await selection. The specific timelines, allowed rounds, and duration for the ballot are currently unknown, with a cap of 1,000 places agreed upon.
