Express Entry draws are typically held on alternate weeks, making today’s draw a welcome surprise. It also breaks recent trends, as previous CEC draws have seen high CRS cut-offs and ITA issuances of only around 1,000.
The CRS cut-off for today’s draw dropped to a new low for 2025, previously standing at 518 points.
This is the fifth Express Entry draw in December, following:
-
A Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on December 15
-
A healthcare and social services occupation draw on December 11
-
The largest CEC draw in the last 16 months on December 10
So far in 2025, IRCC has issued 111,998 ITAs through the Express Entry system.
This year, Express Entry draws have mainly prioritized PNP candidates, with the remaining ITAs allocated to CEC candidates, French-language skilled applicants, and individuals in Express Entry priority occupation categories.
