Three Canadian provinces invited people to apply for their separate Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) this week.
The PNP was established in 1998 to share the benefits of immigration throughout Canada. It accomplishes this by delegating immigration authority to the federal government as well as the provinces and territories.
Today, it is one of the most popular ways to immigrate to Canada as an experienced worker.
Being nominated by a province does not imply permanent residence status. Candidates nominated by a province must still go through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
However, it can help boost a candidate's application. Express Entry candidates who earn a provincial nomination gain an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, essentially ensuring an invitation to apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.

Manitoba
On October 10, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted three drawings.
The first occurred during an occupation-specific selection process for candidates in the Skilled Worker in Manitoba stream. The draw extended 82 invites to people who had finished post-secondary education in the province. The cutoff score for the draw was 845 points.
On the same day, the province invited 114 candidates for the International Education stream.
Finally, MPNP organised a lottery for the Skilled Worker Overseas stream, inviting 38 applicants with a minimum score of 711. To be eligible for this draw, individuals had to be invited by the MPNP through a "Strategic Recruitment Initiative."
