The April 28 draw marks the second PNP-focused draw of the month, with no other Express Entry categories receiving invitations in April so far.
2025 Draw Trends and Immigration Goals
So far this year, 31,929 ITAs have been issued through Express Entry. IRCC appears to be focusing heavily on Provincial Nominee Program candidates, with no category-based draws beyond those targeting French-speaking applicants.
Notably, Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates have not seen a dedicated draw since February 5. However, IRCC has reiterated its commitment to prioritizing both CEC applicants and candidates in designated priority categories in the months ahead.
Under the 2025–2027 Immigration Levels Plan, Canada aims to welcome 395,000 new permanent residents in 2025, with 232,150 expected to come through economic immigration programs such as Express Entry.
Can My Family Immigrate With Me Through Express Entry?
Yes—if you're approved for permanent residence through Express Entry, you can include your spouse, common-law partner, and dependent children in your application. If granted, these family members will also receive permanent resident status.
IRCC defines a dependent child as:
- Under 22 years of age and not married or in a common-law relationship; or
- 22 years of age or older who has been financially dependent on a parent due to a physical or mental condition, beginning before the age of 22.
In addition, permanent residents and Canadian citizens may also be eligible to sponsor their parents and grandparents through the Parents and Grandparents Program, or invite them to Canada on a Super Visa.
