On September 19, 2025, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) conducted a draw and issued 129 invitations under its Labour & Express Entry stream. This was the province’s ninth draw for the year, consistent with its monthly draw schedule in 2025.
PEI prioritized candidates working for employers in the province, as well as international graduates from institutions like UPEI, Holland College, and Collège de l’Île. The province is currently focusing on candidates employed in healthcare, trades, and manufacturing, which are sectors experiencing labour shortages.
Candidates working in non-priority sectors, such as sales or general services, were excluded from receiving invitations during this draw.
Under PEI’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system, candidates are ranked based on multiple factors including:
-
Language proficiency (English/French)
-
Education
-
Work experience
-
How closely their skills match labour market needs
-
Whether they hold a job offer in PEI
Due to reductions in nomination allocations across many provinces in 2025, PEI and other provinces have begun concentrating their nomination efforts on workers in in-demand occupations that best align with economic priorities.
